We are currently searching for a Risk and Compliance Officer to join us on our journey - you will work closely with all internal departments, report directly to our CEO, Ernst, and will oversee the overall risk and compliance program and related matters for Payaut.

In this role you will be part of the Management Team and have the possibility to grow into a Board Member position. As Risk and Compliance Officer you will be appointed as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) of Payaut and oversee all legal activities by performing them or liaising with external counsels.

What can you expect in this role, day-to-day? 

➡️ Acting as the point of contact for Payaut’s regulators, data protection authority and local FIU
➡️ Establishing, maintaining and updating standards, policies and procedures on all relevant topics for a regulated payment institution (including but not limited to AML / Sanction, Fraud, Bribery and Corruption, IT Security, Business Continuity Plan, Pre-employment screening etc.)
➡️ Ensuring management of the risk control framework
➡️ Identifying, evaluating and monitoring risks - in order to avoid, mitigate or reduce risks for Payaut within the risk appetite
➡️ Ensuring effective compliance, control and reporting in line with laws and regulations
➡️ Responding to regulatory developments, reporting requirements, changes to laws and regulations
➡️ Overseeing and challenging employees and teams within Payaut on compliance and integrity related matters, related to the provision of payment services
➡️ Educating employees and create risk and compliance awareness within Payaut
➡️ Building effective controls, incident reporting and management
➡️ Demonstrating ethical leadership and business integrity
➡️ Fulfilling the responsibilities of DPO under GDPR
➡️ Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, addendums, NDAs etc.
➡️ Supporting and advising the Sales Department in prospecting clients in relation to legal matters and compliancy of prospects business models
➡️ Supporting and advising Product and Engineering in designing and building new services in line with Payaut’s risk appetite and legal and compliance requirements
➡️ Sharing strategic leadership responsibilities with the CEO & CTO
  

What experience, skills and qualities will you need?

✔️ 5+ years' experience in Compliance and/or Risk
✔️ Experience in the Payments/FinTech/Financial Service industry is mandatory
✔️ Knowledge of PSD2 is an absolute must
✔️ Financial knowledge to help address investment, banking, and other financial topics for Payaut is a real plus!
✔️ Strong understanding of risk, compliance and legal requirements for a regulated financial institution
✔️ Proven experience in a managerial/leadership role
✔️ Flexibility when it comes to taking on a multi-faceted role
✔️ Balanced decision-making and problem-solving skills
✔️ Personal integrity and a sense of ethics to ensure independence
✔️ Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
✔️ Sharp critical thinking skills
✔️ A good sense of humour!
